Looking for a Specific Length? To keep things simple, each necklaces has been categorized by length, regardless of style.
- The Collar and Choker category includes necklaces of approximately 12-16 inches in length. Traditionally, the term collar necklace has been used to describe a necklace consisting of 3 or more strands that fits snug around the neck. Most collars about about 12-13 inches in length. Choker has usually been used to describe a necklace that is 14-16 inches in length.
- The Princes and Matinee category includes necklaces 17-24 inches in length. Princes has typically been used to denote a necklace that is 17-19 inches in length, whereas Matinee is used to refer to necklaces in the 20-24 inch length.
- The Opera and Lariat category includes all necklaces of a length greater than 24 inches. For those who value precision, the term Opera has been reserved for necklaces of a length of 28-34 inches, whereas the Lariat designation has been used for necklaces of a length of 45 inches or greater. Lariat necklaces are also referred to as Ropes.
